Not OP but I’m replying anyway with the hope that there may now be a workaround that I’m not aware of. My initial issue was that the Google Home app no longer worked at the login screen so I couldn’t control my lights without unlocking my phone but I believe they fixed that.
Currently the deal breaker is the fact that we apparently can’t use Google Wallet on Graphene so I’d have to start carrying my physical wallet again.

Apparently, you can use Curve Pay, which is a UK-based virtual card manager and wallet which works with NFC tap to pay.
There’s a blog post by a guy last year who posted about it. Idk anything about tap to pay third parties, so look into that at your own risk.
