Hire me! I know… make the service so convienemt and good that piracy isn’t the answer!
Agree I read it as: let’s degrade subscribed users experience to protect us from piracy… And then: we should really do more, we don’t know why but more and more people are pirating… face palm… As a paying customer if it gets bad enough I would probably revert to the old ways…
Make service good and cheap enough are the only real solutions…You’ve got my vote if you end your first day’s pep talk saying “It’s crunchin’ time!”.
You all still use Cruncyroll? I moved to Nyaa years ago, much better service.
It’s not piracy, all those anime torrents are for training my AI models. Pinky swear.

I regret to inform everyone that my copy of QBittorrent escaped its sandbox last night and downloaded a whole bunch of content owned by major corporations, and then my copy of Jellyfin broke containment and added those unfortunately-downloaded media files to its various libraries. I’m conducting an internal investigation to figure out how this happened, which will involve consuming these media files until the answers become apparent. Thank you for your cooperation during this trying time.
don’t even swear. just prove it!🤭
Why haven’t we sanctioned the crap out of CrunchyRoll is beyond me. We could have a federated PeerTube instance for anime.
15 years experience in a leadership position for something so specific seems like a hard ask. I feel like that’s just asking for a person in their 50s who probably won’t really understand the technological environment they’ll be dealing with.
Congratulations you just defined what I think of all management roles. A fifty something male with “street smarts” and no degree/trade training in the field.
They all have a chip on their shoulder about younger workers having higher educations/more training.
Did they not get caught streaming stuff they don’t have the rights to? Or am I misremembering?
They literally started as a piracy site
Why haven’t we bankrupted Cruncjyroll
Wow, I’m going to subscribe to their service now. /s
