Pretty cool project, several people mentioned it in the recent Steam Controller thread.
Basically you buy a NRF52840 Pro Micro (I bought mine for $8USD), drop a firmware file on it, and you have a alternative wireless puck for the Steam Controller. By pressing button combinations you can switch it to act like a switch/xbox/ps controller letting the steam controller work on those platforms as well. The steam controller supports being paired with two pucks, you just hold R1+A+Steam for pairing one, and L1+A+Steam for pairing two (hold these buttons when turning the controller on).
It is recommended to add an enclosure to protect the chip, if you have a 3d printer there are a bunch of models available to print an enclosure.
Ha! It even supports “reverse puck mode” to turn your Steam Deck into a Steam Controller by running an app on the Deck.
This is properly sick! I was just thinking to myself the other day:
“jeez I wish I could hook the steam controller up to an Xbox or something”
And now I don’t have to wish!

I get where you’re coming from, but this project probably only exists because of LLMs. Most of the people spitting out vide coded projects don’t have the time or knowledge to make this stuff by hand.
And it’s a legitimately useful project that’s helping people out, and possibly saving them money by making their SC more universal. So at least in this case I’m just thankful to have it at all.
I want nothing more than for there to be a fully human coded alternative to OpenPuck that’s on par with or better in every way. I would love to stop working on OpenPuck. If someone builds an alternative that matches this criteria I would also happily change the name of this project and archive this repo.

Been using this for a while now; quite the nifty project. It helps on games that don’t like steam input.
