Yeah… About that… I cook on a more conceptual level than a recipe level (not trying to sound smart, quite the opposite, it’s laziness lol)… From what I read people saying about baking being so precise it’s a wonder anything I make actually comes out good lol
It’s basically a simple yeast risen dough with a bunch of sugar as well. I use bread flour instead of all purpose as it retains more water and ends up softer. The “pretzelness” comes from a baking soda & water bath you give them before adding salt and baking. Just add some baking soda to hot water and toss them in it for a few seconds or so. From what I understand, the more basic the solution the better so people used to use Lye, but that’s kinda dangerous and baking soda does the trick.

I think there’s some AI nonsense going on in the beginning there because it calls out baking soda as a leavening agent but that’s not what it’s being used for in this recipe.

I just want to second the comment here about a high yield savings account, or even a CD. They’re both low/no risk investments. If the money you have is just sitting there you might as well be getting interest on it and a high yield savings, or a CD, aren’t exposed to the market so you can only lose if the bank shuts down and the FDIC can’t reimburse you, but if that happens we all have much bigger issues to worry about lol
I’m in a much worse situation than you, also at 40, so I definitely feel your pain here. Single, renting a garage “apartment,” working a shitty dead end factory job, and no inheritance to ever expect to receive. I too don’t feel like a real adult, but a failure of a human. So you’re not alone there for sure.

I’ll probably catch some hate for this one, but also Squadron 42 from the not so loved star citizen devs. Seeing what star citizen can do when it’s working though has me pretty excited to see what a single player game, that doesn’t rely on servers that are perpetually on fire, will be like.
I used to read up on a bunch of conspiracies but I don’t think I ever really believed any of them too much, but if I had to say one specific conspiracy I do believe in it’s the tech bro oligarchy. People like Elon Musk and Peter Thiel are young enough and have essentially unlimited resources to enact their plan for “the world” as it were. Unfortunately I really believe they’re going to succeed eventually.

That life isn’t a fairy tale. Some live the “ideal life” and a lot of others don’t. I’m one of the don’t and need to be reminded that it’s not abnormal, things don’t just work out for everyone.
I make a dish with vegetables, chickpea and chicken in the slow cooker with mostly a “Mediterranean” style seasoning, garlic, olive oil, parsley, etc, but I add a touch of soy sauce. It might work for your vegetable soup as well depending on what’s in it.

The government doesn’t care about children anywhere. They’re a political tool when talked about in the us, a method to get whatever legislation passed that they want that we’d otherwise oppose. “It’s for the children” is never about the children.
When we bomb children in other countries, the government just doesn’t care at all and will just make up any excuses as to why it’s acceptable.
I think animators will get screwed, but the corporate structures that own IPs will get even wealthier as they can just hire a very small handful of people to come up with a story and then pump out animations “instantly.”
Idk so much about depth, but more because of the story it is tied to. I’m a nerd and have been playing a game that just told a story that hurt quite a bit and then they had 2 songs go with that story. One from the perspective of the main character being written for a second character, and the second song from that second character we’ve “lost” which was written for the main character. Its been two weeks and they still choke me up lol
The lyrics are ok, but I believe they were in Chinese first and then translated so I think they suffer from the need to fit within the melody and read kinda odd.
