You may have been using the new/beta engine. This engine is known to crash frequently. I use the old engine and never have any problems.

Anarchy Online (2001) is a game I play frequently.

Manjaro. Not even once.
Gentoo is fun to play around with but is not a daily driver at all.

You wrote a lot of words without giving a single detail. Pretty impressive.

It’s not that it renders incorrectly so much as abysmal performance. Choppy scrolling, page elements taking a long time to load, etc.
I did a bit of distro hopping lately so it was on a few distros mainly arch and Fedora base.
Also experienced this in windows 10 and 11.

Moved off Firefox this month. I was die hard Firefox user for decades. All the way back to Netscape and the original Mozilla browser with the t-Rex logo.
I tried using zen and librewolf but they both suffered the same problem. Dogshit engine.

I know the Linux community has a hard time accepting this, but Firefox’s rendering engine is trash tier. Even in Windows.
I don’t know the inner workings or politics, I can only go by anecdotal evidence. Firefox runs like shit for me on everything.
🤷♂️

Fedora or Bazzite imo. I’m currently using. Bazzite and it just works for me. If you’re unfamiliar with immutable distros and don’t want to read the docs, I would just go with Fedora. It’s a stable up to date distro, no frills.
Make sure to get KDE as it’s the closest thing to what you’re used to and will make for easier transition. It’s very familiar like Windows 10 interface.

Similar to docker and installed by default in Bazzite.

You should not be using rpm-os tree as a replacement for DNF. Their docs have a software installation section that specifically state it should be avoided.

I have both and my biggest gripe about the Lenovo is the abysmal battery life. It feels like a portable that constantly needs to be near a plug.

It’s probably not detecting that you have a wine / proton installed and defaulting to Linux native version.
Check if this problem persists with other games and also check under heroic settings > manage wine versions and make sure to install one (generally proton-ge latest)

I’m a fan as well. Also if you like it check out Action Retro’s videos about it. Fun stuff.

By that logic, any OS that isn’t windows or Mac is “close enough”. 🤷♂️

So my question is, why is this posted in a Linux community? It has nothing to do with Linux.
