While not all functions work, they do a lot of things in Wayland. xdotool search, xdotool winactivate, xdotool windowsize, xdotool windowmove, xdotool keyup, and wmctrl -r all work fine, and my “move to” script (that positions all my windows on startup) works in Wayland using those.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Lemmings over 30 who try to stay active, what are you doing to accommodate for your incredibly decrepit bodies to avoid boo-boos?
1·3 days agoQuite s bit older than you and I:
- Hike and/or backpack, anywhere from 3-12 miles and up to 5k ft elevation depending on the weekend (and weather, icy mountains are slow going)
- Gravel biking, or on the trainer with Zwift
- Running, though I don’t particularly like it, so not much
- And days I just want to move around, archery
You are not old at 30, your body is just out of practice and your mind lacks motivation. Both can be tough to overcome.
If things are hurting, I highly recommend cycling of some form, as it’s way less impact. Or hiking with poles, helps a ton. Just take it slow to start.
Can’t you still script it with
wmctrlandxdotool?
What? This is made up. Go to the Ask Linux community and explain where this is happening.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Windows 10 refugees flock to Linux in what devs call their "biggest launch ever"
14·29 days agoI’m ok with that. You hit a point where a community sustains, and is good. Lemmy is a great example of that. Often, when it grows past that, it can become… unsavory.

1·1 month agoI might beat you to it. I’ve got Kiwix running in docker, just did a PR to the
kiwix-zim-updaterso it can run in Docker on a cron schedule next to the server, and have spun those up with Karakeep (self-hosted web archive I use for bookmarking).Right now I’m adding a ZIM list feature to the updater to list available ZIMs by language, and then I’ll move on to OSM.

5·1 month agoDo you recommend adding anything else to it?
For instance, OSM maps?
I’ve been thinking about running the Kiwix app + OSMAnd on an old Android phone and auto updating it once a year.

3·1 month ago120GB not including Wikimedia 😉
Also, I wish they included OSM maps, not just the wiki.
ComOP is joking about this: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolphin_(emulator)
I thought the same thing when I saw the comic.
Interesting. I will test my laptop woth Firefox tomorrow, see if there is anything janky going on that would make it work.
I currently have it working with Chromium web apps, Thunderbird, and Element.
