Are you sure about that? You still have to step through a dozen setup screens and forcefully sign into a Microsoft account. Then, you have to update your new computer and reboot 4-5 times to install all updates often sequentially.
Meanwhile, in Linux-land, it installs the latest packages and updates during install when using a net installer.
Oh boy. I’m sorry for my ignorance. Haven’t touched Windows since win 7 came out and did not expect it do go down that much, that sounds like win95 self install.
But still, I guess it is easier more the majority, since you “just” need to follow the instructions on the screen and not think it look into alternatives, which you need to get on a viable device etc. I guess here “easier” means something else than “less complicated”. Only solution I could imagine would be if PCs would be shipped with something like a sophisticated version of netboot, or of course you can choose the os when ordering, but that only viable on smaller scale. But even than… People would not go through the list and just go with what they know.
Didn’t mean to post such a wall of text… just random thoughts coming in
When my Manjaro install asked me if I want to install it in / partition and to use my /home partition as /home without deleting my data, I literally almost came.
Windows has gotten so fucked lately, by the time I finally convince it to use the browser I want I still end up getting shown ads for Doom and Tiktok - even on a work domain joined computer.
Archinstall getting easier than windows 11 install is kind of a fucked up future
People usually use Windows because it comes pre installed. I doubt arch install is easier than that ;)

That also has nothing to do with the video at hand.

archwin11 btw is the flex of the futureWhen my Manjaro install asked me if I want to install it in / partition and to use my /home partition as /home without deleting my data, I literally almost came.
WTF, this is new to me. Sounds like generic distro hop with less steps. Nice
I had my partitions set up for a while like that and in Ubuntu it was a mess to recreate every time.

It isn’t easier though. None of the settings mentioned are necessary.
It is only easier when you want to optimize your OS. Which 80% of users won’t do.
