The video is an old one about Katrina. I need it for homework. I have tried accessing it from CNN’s website but CNN in their infinite wisdom put DRM on the video that is publicly available, and I assume that is why it doesn’t work on mull, librewolf, or chromium (all show same error about neon request failed). I looked on the generic torrent sites to no avail. Any response would help, the questions are very specific to the video and it is due soon.
Many old cnn videos are on youtube. You may have luck searching the headline from the CNN page on youtube, especially if it’s one of those with no article or just a few lines telling you what to expect in the video.
If you had time I would say to try contacting CNN directly. Most news outlets don’t mind sharing old reports. Can take a while though.
Another option would be to contact the reporter who did the report as they might save such things for whatever reason or might be willing to put you in touch with the outlet’s archive department, but again might take a while.
But since time is an issue, YouTube may be your best bet.
Wayback machine?
If you link to the video, someone might be able to download it.
I assume you don’t need the absolute best in quality, but I’d try a screen capture utility.
On a Mac, QuickTime player can record sections.
I’m not sure what you mean. I need to view the video but I can’t. I am just looking for alternative viewing methods.
Oh, to me it sounded like you could access the video, it just had DRM so you couldn’t save it.
Different problem
It’s not DRM’d, it’s just gone.
You might be able to find it by searching, but I’d just tell the instructor that the video isn’t available.
It is on a streaming service. They played it in class but I didn’t hear enough.
Yeh no idea 😛 https://www.y2mate.com
