Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's the dumbest weed related thing that's happened to you or someone you know did?
2·10 months agoI’m glad to hear it, I’m far enough past it to laugh now but at the time I was fairly upset. Lesson learned, don’t try to hotbox a bag!

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's the dumbest weed related thing that's happened to you or someone you know did?
16·10 months agoI was in high school and new to weed, couldn’t afford a lot of it so I was trying to maximize efficiency, had the idea that hotboxing in a smaller space would concentrate the smoke making it easier to reinhale more of it, decided to try smoking a bowl with one of those huge yard trash bags draped over me. I managed to get into the bag with my bowl successfully, but I had long hair at the time & when I tried to light the bowl my bangs got in the way and were lit on fire a little, not enough to injure me but more than enough to trap me in a small space with a large amount of burnt hair smoke. In the struggle to escape I spilled the bowl.
Sausage is meat, just ground up. People use the term “american cheese” to refer to a variety of products, ranging from almost all real cheese with a small percentage of emulsifier added, to shit like Kraft singles which is mostly milk protein concentrate and emulsifier with a small percentage of real cheese added (allegedly). The latter is usually labelled “pasteurized process cheese food/product” or something similar, US law forbids actually calling it cheese if the cheese content is less than 95% iirc

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's something you had as a kid you wish had modern batteries?
21·10 months agoThe car adapter did kick ass, but I never got to use it because looking at anything other than the road while in a moving vehicle would instantly make me nauseous. I do vaguely remember it getting very hot, alarmingly so in retrospect, but I didn’t know shit about exploding batteries at 5 years old so I never worried about it.

61·10 months agoSega GameGear. That thing had a better screen than any portable gaming device would for another 20+ years, but it would eat 6 AA batteries in less than an hour. There were rechargable battery packs you could get for it but they were heavy as shit and didn’t last noticeably longer, you could play it with the battery pack plugged into the charger but then you’re not actually mobile at all so you might as well play the same games on the Genesis.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•If you play a multiplayer game, and lose, who is the author of your defeat?
3·10 months agoI have not been defeated, I have been assisted. I lose nothing and gain valuable experience. I grow and challenge my opponent again, helping them to grow as well.
There’s no evidence for free will. Every physical process involved in the function of our bodies and brains has so far proven to be deterministic in every way we can verify. That doesn’t mean you can’t have an original thought though, it just means that any original thought you have was necessarily going to happen and couldn’t possibly have happened any other way. It’s fate.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•When is democracy appropriate and when is it not?
11·10 months agoYou have the political philosophy of a petulant toddlet
The oldest game I’ve played in the past year is the original Toejam & Earl for Genesis, the gameplay and soundtrack still hold up surprisingly well
