  • It’s because they appear to be something they’re not.

They’re usually friendly and fun and do all sorts of employee retention activities like arranging go karting and such…

They seem like they’re there almost as union stewards, to try and help retain employees and ensure you’re treated well by management. This is not the case. They’re there to protect the company from lawsuits originated by you. This means that they’ll apply rules and such in ways that are not usually beneficial to you.

They’re actually really helpful if you have issues with a coworker! However, you need to remember that despite how friendly they seem, they’re not actually in your corner, they have their own agenda.

So the simple answer is that they aren’t bad at all, but it can feel bad if you thought they were your friend.

  • Entirely escapism, most romantic movies involve felonies lol.

Stalking is the most popular, harassment, sexual harassment, assault, lack of consent.

…. But it’s all portrayed as romantic. You want to talk about rape culture? The romance films are peak “rape culture”

Twilight vampires secretly watching you sleep without your consent? Hawt! The guy refusing to take no for an answer? How devoted! The guy just grabbing you and kissing you out of nowhere? Swooooon! My ex inserting herself into my current relationship to wreck it and get back together with me? It MUST be true love. . I assure you, those things are unpleasant in real life, but I’m really curious as to how people think they’re romantic in movies. I don’t get it.

  • A banana pi is not going to have the processing power to properly route that much data.

You’re looking at an Intel nuc at minimum.

If your internet is 5gbps and the router only has 2.5 gbps ports, you’re going to be capped at 2.5gbps unless you start getting really over complicated because the router expects ONE incoming port. There ARE ways to support pairing two Ethernet ports together, but your ISP’s modem/router won’t support it because “fuck you for having your own hardware”

    Also because they’re cheap.

If your switch is 1gbps, you’ll be limited to 1gbps.
