I don’t use Arch, BTW. So the biggest NPM treat vector on my machine is still VSCode.

To be fair, “if you want cheap chocolate you’re going to have to live with some child slavery,” has been working for Nestle for many years now.

It’s either pleurigloss (the color of a solider returning from war and seeing their dog for the first time) or hooloovoo (the super intelligent shade of blue).

I was thinking Ubuntu is the one who follows people around and steps on the heels of their shoes while they walk, but has loads of “friends” because they have money.
If your work laptop is a pain for those last Wine resistant apps: I recently started using (and liking) WinBoat for running Fusion 360, the 1 piece of software I can’t get running in Wine and can’t manage to switch off of. It makes it really easy to maintain a windows VM and then use RemoteApp to launch individual pieces of software from it as if they were running natively.
Back before I switched to linux it was how I (as a then Windows 2k user) looked at any version of Windows w/o the NT kernel. Now its how I look at people who still use Reddit.
Maybe I just like to look at people that way.

When the game 7th Guest came out (though I’m sure there were others) it was on a mixed CD, part soundrack audio and part game data. But if you had an older CD playing stereo that didn’t block track zero, you could listen to the data. It was early EDM for the crowd that listened to modem handshakes for fun.

KDE Plasma. I want context sensitive mouse button macros depending on the active window and, if its librewolf, the site in the active tab. I am currently using libratbag/ratbagctl for the remapping, but I’m changing ratbagctl profiles manually.

I’ve discovered this once on my own, I had a complex control remapper and that I had been evolving into a horrific bash hydra of hacks over many years. I briefly tried to get it working when I switched to Wayland. I don’t remember which component broke me, but it went something like this:
“Hey, I wonder why doesn’t this thing work in Wayland. I wonder if I can whip up a pale imitation.”
10 minutes of stack overflow searches later…
“Oh… oh no.”

I don’t log in automatically, but I do let my session login hold my password manager vault open.

LibreWolf also has the Reader View, also do not use that.
Linus is the leader who tells all the Colonels how to do their jobs. Then they order the Drivers to take your data all through the series of tubes.
Also text files. At the end of the day it’s just text files.

The year of the Linux Desktop doesn’t happen when people shut up about Linux.

The 24.04 beta of Pop! with cosmic just dropped.

It’s canonical (to me alone) that the HML is the basis for LCARS in the Star Trek universe.
I’m a longtime vim user and I use nvim+lazyvim for all my personal stuff these days, but I have to use enterprise managed VS or VSCode for work.
