Now that you mention non-salary benefits… I would get a company car for myself in the new job, effectively eliminating all car-related costs. Healthcare wise it‘s the same. This company car would reduce my cost immensely, evening out the salary gap.

Well the new job would make use of various licenses I acquired in my free time. On paper it sounds amazing but I would really want to know what I’m getting into before actually quitting my current job.

Please correct me if I’m wrong since I’m not native in English. In my understanding a paycut is the reduction of one’s income.

My backup plan is that I have an assessment in the near future that, if passed, states me as someone who’s good with taxes and that certificate is valued higher than a bachelor‘s degree

No paycut, only if I switch jobs

Well that’s the point, there’s so many managers that they load the work of the retirees off to the other managers. The positions just vanish.

Retirements aren’t replaced. Only chance of getting a raise is if someone higher up quits

In Austria, where I’m from, sex ed in school gets a brief introduction at age 10 when learning about the human anatomy, gradually learning more in biology class. Before ending middle school, there’s a mandatory intensive sex ed course, at least that was the thing 17 years ago.
Condoms were primarily advertised as medical products for preventing from sexual diseases, and only secondly as pregnancy preventions.
1 in 10 has had sex with 14 years old in my country, keep it safe, better at home with condoms than in the woods without. If they want to, they’ll find a way.

We calculated in the 70s that the algorithm on which the LLMs run will only get us so far. We’ve nearly reached that point. related article that basically covers it all: https://venturebeat.com/ai/llms-are-stuck-on-a-problem-from-the-70s-but-are-still-worth-using-heres-why
So basically no different view. Still waiting for my cyborg buddy.

I have that one and nothing more. https://at.tempur.com/kissen/klassische-schlafkissen/comfort-smartcool-kissen-AT83400448.html If it’s too high I use my arm or an edge of the blanket as a pillow.

So… a Linux desktop with slots for all the retro games, innit?

Absolutely Arabic!

I just got a mal from Spotify that they increase the prices from €17 to €21 (family) I don’t want to pay 25% more for that AI-slob filled garbage.
The changes apply to existing accounts in 3 months. Then, I will rip all my hearted songs and playlists.

Oh I did pirate that woke game, was it dustbuilt or dirtborn or something? Didn’t play it tho

Actually, most of them already do have deals for a limited time. Skype is still available; they needed a new contract since teams does not work without communicating with Microsoft.
OTOH most things they do is via webclient.
If Microsoft was to release a mandatory update that has a single thing that required it to communicate with the organization, by law the whole governmental EU would not be able to use it.
Most of us refugees just want windows but cool.

Don’t forget that those fansubbers also want the watchers to get the feeling of the Japanese dubs, switching out sentences to match the voiced lines and still bring you the message, while non-fans just translate it.

As a non-native English speaker, I’ve assumed it meant that companies can put anything they want in their contracts

Second to last thing is punishable by fine in most of Europe, last one is… on the rise…
Company free speech is allowed, but there’s laws to keep them from being total asshats
