Awwww yeah! Together FOSS monkey strong! Thanks for the write up an for taking the plunge.
I tried mint a couple years back and am now fully in love with Fedora KDE. I’m so happy to work with an OS this smooth!

When they closed down the API for third party apps I packed my things, I thought reddit would be different, but to me, at that moment they proved they were not different.
Lemmy is not perfect and the whole dev team has some pretty insane views. But you know, it’s FOSS, so it’s not about the devs as much. Perfect is the enemy of great, and Lemmy is a healthier choice then Reddit imo.
Why is the screen black after the login screen for multiple minutes, after which it continues to function as expected and shows the DE like everything is fine??
On Fedora live update is turned of by default with a warning saying updating without rebooting is not recommended. As a cautious noob, I left it as is. Too cautious?

Could be the wireless PS5 controller connection, definitely. It could be introduced by the TV too, most TVs do a bit of post processing. Most TVs also have a game mode that disables most or all of the post processing to reduce the input lag.

I don’t like the 99,- price either, but the joy cons are too expensive even when compared to that, imho. I love the idea of them but wow are those ever uncomfortable for me, it just feels like a different class to me.
I also loved the OG Xbox BIG CHUNGUS, so, you know, different tastes for different people
Well I just switched over from W11 to Fedora on my workstation/main device and I had an impulse to keep the amount of seperate distro’s to max 2. Already have Mint on the living room pc, so, I don’t know, maybe keeping it in the same family reduces my startup friction?
Also have a Synology NAS seperately, so currently my new home server demands are low, fedora server is bound to adequate.
Wow, what a beauty! Must be fantastic now that it’s proven itself to mostly work. I’m gonna try setting up a Vintage Story dedicated server with Fedora Server this week on a thin client or HP pro or whatever you want to call it. What do you use when managing the server? I read about Cockpit and honestly it looks to perfectly fit my needs.
Starting my third week of the Linux Desktop. I’ve never been so happy to switch DE’s as I am this time, and without a dual boot option for windows to claw itself back. Goodbye forever, Windows. My new DE is Fedorable

Oh sure, if you use retrodeck or something similar, your ROMs can be added to the normal steam lib with images and everything, making it almost fully plug and play. I have been pretty succesful up to PS3 (I love Dante’s inferno), and although switch/BotW required a lot more work beforehand, it did eventually work on a stable fps.

Time for some more Advanced Wars 1, gotta finish that once and for all. Some PokeMMO on the side.

Thanks for the tldr, it’s a simple fix but at least now we have some plan instead of no plan.

Me too, up top! Recent releases made some really good improvements on ui and editing, too. Good times.

My thoughts as well. At least we can be cynical together.
Bawwww, I was happy to be able to do my part for the steam linux charts for the first time, but it was not the month of the Linux desktop I guess
