I wasn’t even mad. If it brings you that much joy you do you man.
I always wanted to ask someone in tech support: is there a useful shorthand to indicate “I have a decent understanding of how to operate my computer, and I’m calling you because I don’t have the security clearance to fix this myself”?
I have no problem following the specific instructions I’m being given, but we could speed this along if you know you can just tell me to “open command prompt” instead of explaining the steps of how to do so.

Some days I just had to pretend I didn’t hear them.
Pro tip: if you have a “go to” joke you always say in a given situation, guaranteed the person you’re saying it to has already heard it several times this week. Just don’t.
And before anyone responds with “they’re just trying to improve your day” they’re not. If I don’t find the joke funny they get offended, that means they aren’t doing it for me, they’re doing it to show off how great and funny they are.
Pro tip: don’t tell someone a joke if you’re going to be offended if they don’t laugh.
Also: don’t trust your employees to boot into safe mode.
Trust a 3rd party to freely install system level files at any time.
I knew how to fix the computers at work today in the morning, but we couldn’t get through to the help desk to get the bit locker codes for each computer until near the end of the day.

Well my interest is the complete collapse of Facebook & co, so it’s going to be hard to find a compromise there.
I waited to install Linux until I put in another drive to dual-boot, and proceeded to never go back to my windows install.
I was surprised at how easy it was to get things running, and any difficulties I had were mostly the result of me assuming things were more complicated than they are and not looking for simple solutions.

I just installed Linux Mint for the first time. As a life long Windows user it’s more intuitive than Windows 11, the install and setup was easier than I’ve ever had doing a fresh install off windows, and I was able to connect to my media tower (still running Windows 10) faster and with less hassle than using a Windows machine.
The only thing that was more difficult was having to look up where to find the setting in Steam for “please provide me Linux versions of games that don’t officially support it.”

Can Mint read files from a Windows partition or is it a different filesystem?
I’m waiting until there’s a good sale on Hard drives to set up a dual-boot.
I don’t think it even fucks the file, windows just can’t open it until you put the file extension back.
And if that doesn’t work check the physical connection by unplugging it and plugging it back in.
