Depending on the exact part of life that I want to spice up, clarified butter is nice.
Mmmmm, butter.

I hit my finger on a spinning piece on a lathe; it sliced my finger right down to the bone, and cut through the tendon. Thankfully it cut the tendon along the length rather than across; I needed 3-4 stitches to close it up, but no surgery.
Hmmm. Three-way tie, TBH. I’ve been on the internet since before Netscape, so take this for what it’s worth.
A child (maybe six?) being raped was definitely one of the worst; she was screaming and crying in the brief clip I watched. Apparently it was her father that was raping her; AFAIK he’s in prison for life now. Hopefully his life in prison is very short. I’m not even sure how many years ago this was now.
Crush videos involving kittens on an .onion site about a decade ago. I clicked on a thumbnail just long enough to verify that yeah, it was what I thought it was, and then left the site. I’ve owned cats my whole life; if I knew someone personally that did that, I would absolutely kill them. Yes, I had a stronger visceral reaction to that than I did a child rape video, and no, that doesn’t make any sense.
A video from Mexico showing a purported child rapist; he was restrained, and dogs were chewing his genitals off. He had those high, breathy screams of someone in agony that was unable to catch their breath. It ended after the dogs tore his entire lower abdomen to shreds and one of the cartel (?) members cut his throat. Maybe 15 years ago? I’m pretty sure that this was a hi-def video.
I didn’t watch the video of the Russian officer cutting the head off a Ukrainian POW. I’m past the point of having any desire to watch videos that further decrease my opinion of humanity.
Usually salt, black pepper, red pepper, cumin, cardamom, dried hot chilies, cinnamon, coriander, and mace.
Often herbs as well.
Usually you want to dry roast them together first.
I did great in art school, because everything was working with my hands, and still required a high degree of thought/creativity. I did terribly when I was in school for engineering (prior to art school) because I just couldn’t focus on calculus and physics, even though it shouldn’t have been that difficult.
If I had known when I was rather younger, I probably could have done much better in school, and would likely have been a bit more successful–in many ways–than I have been.
That I have moderately severe to severely severe ADHD and I’m on the autism spectrum.
Makes functioning as an adult quite difficult.
Depends. When I was in art school, I regularly worked for 36 hours straight, and at least once for 72 hours straight. But it’s studio work, where you’re actually making a <<thing>>; it never would have worked to have been trying to read Marx/Engels or Hegel and expect to have any kind of comprehension.
Certain piercings are stereotypically seen as gay or feminine. Like, I’ve got >30 piercings, yeah, I’m going to pierce my navel.
Blue cheese dressing is definitely gay. Manly men like sweet salad dressing. I know because Anton LaVey said so, and we all know he was a manly man.
Beto O’Rourke has been one of the biggest gifts the Dems could ever give Republicans. Even if Dems drop gun bans now–and they should!–it will take years of Dems being pro-2A to convince single-issue voters that it’s not a scam.
(especially immigration, but also trans rights, guns etc).
They should absolutely drop guns entirely, and focus on root causes of violence (…which are largely economic and related to the ‘war on drugs’). If Dems entirely dropped gun/feature/magazine bans as a policy point, and never brought it up again, they could peel away a lot of Republican voters. In much the same way, that there are a lot of women that are very conservative that would vote Republican if only Republicans dropped abortion/birth control/IVF/etc.
As an aside to this, Dems constant calls to ban guns actually increases firearm sales. Dropping it as a political point would decrease the overall number of arms sold each year. It would also slow down the guntubers grift of using 2A rights as a way to shift people farther to the right on social and economic issues.
I think that Trump would make a real attempt to criminally prosecute Democratic leaders, as well as Republicans that won’t go along with him. Since the president now has immunity for ‘official acts’, he would have no real roadblocks for dealing with things in an extrajudicial way, and it’s unlikely that anyone that he appoints is going to make any attempt to slow him down; almost everyone that’s served in his prior administration has already said as much.
If he wins, I expect things to be very bad for much longer than his official, legal term of office. He’s going to do everything he can to eliminate the rule of law, and SCOTUS has already demonstrated that they can’t/won’t block him.
I no longer think it is. Anyone that can look at what Trump did from 2017 through 2021, and what he’s saying that he will do if elected, and still vote for him, isn’t someone that cares about a single party dominating politics.
Instant sugar-free chocolate pudding made with Greek yogurt instead of milk, added de-fatted peanut powder and chocolate whey protein (unflavored would work better, TBH), and with peanuts, raw rolled oats, and sliced bananas.
It’s a great meal when you’re done at the gym and utterly exhausted by the prospect of making real food. It’s high protein, no added sugars, and high in fiber. If you squint, it’s almost healthy.
I really liked it too, and was deeply disappointed that it was cancelled prematurely.
TBH, it seems like Netflix cancels everything that I really end up enjoying, and dragging out shows that should have been a limited series (e.g., Stranger Things).
I see that they have Lone Wolf and Cub, Hanzo the Razor (and if you haven’t seen the Hanzo the Razor series, I highly recommend it!), and Zatoichi, but I don’t see Sleepy Eyes of Death.
I would be that pretty much all of the chanbara films are probably on there. Chanbara is roughly the Japanese equivalent of spaghetti westerns.
I’m the exact opposite; I thought that Planet Terror was far more fun than Death Proof. Death Proof just felt like a long, mean-spirited chase scene. It’s one of only two Quentin Tarantino films I didn’t like, the other being Reservoir Dogs.
Accelerometers don’t work that great with motorcycles; when you go into a hard turn, the accelerometer still thinks that you’re straight up, due to centripedal force. You’d actually need gyroscopes. (…Which is why adaptive headlights for motorcycles end up being so expensive, and why only BMW specs them, and only on one or two touring models.)
I think of garlic as being more herb-like than spice. Same with caramelized onions.
