so i have’t really gotten to test this hard but seems like 4ish to 6ish hrs of work… It does get a lil warm but I have my plasma settings to change cpu gov on power events and that really helps… i think i could get more if I switched to sway or something. It suspends really well with only loosing a percent or two overnight and hibernating works.

The only things that aren’t working out of box are autorotating the screen and when the device boots up it seems to want to display the login screen on a screen other than the default. A simple closing the lid, waiting for it to sleep and reopening the screen fixes this. Or if you have an external monitor it’ll output there by default. I feel like the latter could easily be fixed as it feels like I need to default it do the correct screen and I suspect it’s picking up the touch screen device as the display… It shows up on the battery settings as a display with a discharging battery for some reason. The auto rotating doesn’t bother me… I prefer having explicit control of the rotation for my needs.

I’m on endeavoros … My pinephone was running arch and I thought it was neat to albeit briefly have the same set up on my phone and laptop. I eventually retreated back to plasma from sway but I have the tiling plugin activated and on.

Ubuntu was first os I really stuck with for years… It’s weird the shifts they made in the past. The horrid Amazon search in unity shell was their first major misstep… And as much as I understand the snap shift, their implementation was balls. I was forced to jump ship when a work reliant version of Citrix somehow completely would break app armor…

I don’t know what I intended to really say in this post… Just typing out loud I guess.

To echo much already said… As a dude that had magnificent curly locks. I wtarted balding at 18 and now have a hairline of an 18th century monk… If you can shave your head do that. I also have eczema…so that’s out. So hats and just being cool with it. If you try to hide it … people know. Just own that shit. Frankly ladies don’t seem to mind it… Personality goes a long way. So covids def changed the place, but I’m rooting for it… But I love Montreal, QC. I know Quebec gets hate for being rude to non French speakers but I’ve genuinely only had one bad experience and it was a McDonald’s outside Montreal… But the food is great, they have a lot to do both indoor and outdoor activities (see edit) and it helps coming from the states my money is worth a bit more. Man… It’s been too long… I wanna go back.

edit - my favorite things to do is the tam tams, frites alors (hands down my favie resturant), there’s a lot of beautiful cathedrals… the aboritory is awesome. all the ‘lil x towns’ are legit too… man… i need to go back. i recommend going during the jazz fest if you can afford it.

The only podcasts I listen to are the unexpectables ones. I don’t even really like DND but MontyGlu is an amazing voice actor and role player… Like you can tell she genuinely cares for her NPCs and can tell the differences in characters from the nuisance of her characters and the candor in which they speak. I haven’t had much luck finding that else where. And that’s ignoring the fantastic world she has built for her players.
