I think about this a lot. Living in probably the most digitalized western country, pretty much 100% of the software used is proprietary.

We are so deep in the pockets of Microsoft. It’s disgusting. The same goes for pretty much every medium/large company.

I work in tech for telco and the amount of people around me who have zero clue about x509/TLS/certificates in general is absolutely baffling
