I had to work with a win 11 system today. I needed to fast move through a lot of pictures with the m$ image viewer, every time I delete a picture it does a fucking slow animation which just steals my time.
Okay, I went to the win-settings and removed animations. Photo-app still does animations…

I manage over 40 Debian clients in production use. All are managed with ansible. It’s the easiest time in my sysadmin time ever.
My own systems are fedora and Debian unstable. Why? Because I test upcoming changes and features. And think how it would be if all 40 clients run on unstable or fedora, every day updates of 20-60 packages for nothing the user would care about.
Debian stable is my hero.

I excactly doing this. I run coreOS with f2fs and it runs really fast. No issues so far.
I prefer ext4 on HDD and f2fs on flash devices.
Controversial opinion: you become a senior, when you let arch behind and use distros like debian.
I don’t dislike arch, going step by step through the install process is the best way learning and no matter which distro someone use, the arch wiki should be the first place to visit for instructions or help.

Nice list, I would add routers (not everywhere). But for example here in Germany you get a device from your ISP for free but don’t try to change the DNS settings because your ISP wants to know what you are doing online.
Only alternative is a fritzbox which is highly overpriced for a simple router+modem. >200€ for a cablerouter.
I had to buy a used fritzbox, need to nearly hacked them for activating the deactivated bridge-mode and put a cheap Asus router on it with flashed openwrt.
I needed 6 months for the whole setup.
