Fine exploration, but I don’t think we have even scratched the surface yet in regards to how creative we can become. In …let’s say, 1 year, you can create your own kernel/OS from scratch if you want to. No more proprietary drivers needed, all distributed/federated systems integrated into a full net v2, etc…

Unfortunately, too many are reacting with knee-jerk anger on the tool, or if it’s ‘intelligent’ or not, and can’t see that we need to change a dead-weigh ideology that are the root cause of the AI ‘problems’. They really should use some time exploring how they can use AI to steer society in a less harmful direction where rich psychopaths can’t set the direction for everyone else, and where we are not dependent on corporate psychos, ‘copyright’, wage-slavery jobs and similar idiotic patches to keep this ideological garbage barge floating.

This isn’t just caused by ‘AI’ datacenters. US on a strategic level, are trying to control the last ‘western’ tech supremacy to curb China’s rise, so it is they who have constructed this situation with select hardware ‘partners’.

All these corporations control/manipulate the hw market anyway, so easy to work with for the US regime.

We will likely have to wait a few years for China’s production to rise and meet our global needs.

Hm, I tend to like weird small distros, but I don’t think “This command-line-only OS can help you learn the CLI.” is enough to recommend it. ALL distros have a terminal, and many many of them are similar to this distro.

No, its not, and the reviewer that have ‘reviewed lots of distros’ didn’t even explain what boot system it uses. Is it a Debian variant or ? What does it do that any other distro with a terminal doesn’t do ? (Except not being persistent/installable) Why not just spin up a normal Debian server in lxc ?

There are many other suitable terminal distros out there…

Seem to me that peeps outside of the AI development sphere/interest are not aware of how quickly ‘flaws’ gets fixed. There are still people that don’t think AI will ever be useful - or intelligent - based on some ‘archaic’ performance from many months ago. Reality will hit hard I think.

Personally, I have never seen any development move faster than artificial intelligence, and whatever it can’t do ‘properly’ today, it can do tomorrow or the day after.

Current AI/Agentic status is the clawd family of frameworks + a sota model. However, they are really stupid architectures (Every 30 minutes, the llm is yanked back and presented with the original tasks in an md file - that’s it) and are WAY behind what we can do according to papers/newest development. Papers quickly trickles down to architectures tho, and the next family of agentic frameworks will strike as fast as the clawd phenomenon.

We are not far from general AI - not particularly from llms/transformers, but from the external cognitive ‘harness’ that are build all over. While the harness adds cognitive states to the architecture, many of the typical agentic features are being build into the model itself, so the the cognitive functionality of the harness, are being injected into the models, and the new harness fixes other ‘flaws’. We will see one clawd moment after another, faster and faster, getting better and better…

I hope peeps live in a society that takes care of each other, and don’t treat each other as lazy bums that “just wouldn’t work hard enough”. It’s going to be horrible to peeps in US and similar Capitalist ‘might is right’ societies. There is NO safety net for ‘failure’ there.

No, not much, but a happy smiling selfie is seriously not a bad idea!

When we smile to our selves once a day in front of a mirror, we tend to mimic that emotion so we can manipulate our own mood in a deliberate feedback. (There are papers on it).

That is hard to habituate for some of us, so having a smiling selfie on your desktop will continuously nudge you towards …a happier mood than otherwise. …in theory at least ;-)

“Economics” need a re-write too. They have elevated “profits” higher than “Truth-seeking”, and their field are swamped in non-scientific claims and processes that cause ‘Truth’ to become second fiddle to “profits”.

The profit motive compromises Scientific thinking/behavior on ALL levels of the Scientific system, is orthogonal to the truth incentive so only align/overlap in rare cases. Capitalism/free markets is a combative ideology - a belief-system - that generates a perpetual need for profits and kills good Science behavior.

I think this is the important stuff. The current fascist regime just uses the surveillance that is already established, working and harming citizens in their non-free society. However, all the prior US/Western governments have done this in some way or another.

There is no-where, where its okay for Corporations/Capitalist to surveil/control people for their benefit, and oc that oc goes for their elite Government that allows a private/psychotic surveillance ‘machine’ to exist, and even grow huge…
