I don’t think it’s entirely a double standard. Yes Steam is still a launcher, but it’s also the marketplace I buy my games. If I bought a game on Origin or UPlay, and then Steam popped up when I was trying to play my game, that would still be bullshit.

Linux has been dead simple for 15 years now
Fedora is great, if you don’t like the default UI (I am a GNOME hater btw) you can easily try out one of the Fedora Spins with a different desktop environment while keeping Fedora’s stability and features. I recommend Fedora KDE for faster machines and Fedora Cinnamon for older machines or people that want something that’s snappier.
It’s not “shipping with a browser” that was ever the problem.
Perpetual software bloat should not be encouraged; idling at 2GB is fucking insane
Most Arch users don’t actually use Arch because it doesn’t have a GUI installer.
