Yeah for sure. Technically a PC does count as an obstacle, but in practice it’s not a large enough one to matter. If it were a room or two over, then maybe.

I remember reading this thing has poor obstacle penetration but I’m assuming that’s talking about walls and furniture, not a pc, but will that be a problem?
My understanding is it ships with a WiFi dongle. So yes, anything about “poor penetration” is talking about walls / concrete / similar. A port on the back of your PC should not be an issue.
For the rest, idk.

Step 1: Don’t.
Arch people tend to want people to know they use Arch (btw). You’ll also find a lot of posts about getting Arch working.
Debian people tend to be too busy doing other things on their computers besides getting them working, so you’ll hear about it less.
(Important: I’m not dumping on either distro here. Some people, myself included, like Arch exactly because it’s fun to play with and set up. Debian’s older packages tend to mean a more stable system. Use what you like.)

8·24 days agoVibe coding is horrible in the wrong hands, but a skilled programmer can utilise it to carry out boring tasks.
If things continue as they are, eventually there will be no more skilled programmers.

GBoard has good recognition, but I’d rather my keyboard didn’t just siphon off whatever I type.
There are simply a lot fewer people on Lemmy. That’s to be expected.
I will say that the quality of conversation tends to be a bit higher on Lemmy. YMMV though.
I feel a lot less of the hive-mind effect on Lemmy versus Reddit. Not sure why that is.
I cannot fathom why anyone would be using Brave browser, but it’s not really fair to claim this is a Linux problem.
Nvidia are famously anti-Linux/pro-MS and their drivers are notoriously hard to get working on Linux. Again, not a Linux problem per se, and many people simply use AMD instead (because the drivers are in the kernel, no installation needed). YMMV, but if you had games working, you probably had drivers working, so it sounds like this isn’t actually related to your issue.
Again, issue with Brave. Use a better browser.
