Feed and water them regularly. Don’t let them die. If you can make them happy, that’s good too.

Totally, I was at the beach, and this guy walked up…well, I say “walked” but he didn’t really use his legs all the way. And as she, wait did I say it was a guy?, well anyways they turned the thing on and it was SO LOUD and I swear, all the waiters dropped their watchamacallits. Wait, maybe it was at a restaurant? Hmmm…

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Could a vampire policemen enter my house if they had a warrant?
42·1 year agoCould vampires be turned down for the position because they physically are not able to carry out the job? Or would that be supernatural discrimination?
If you’re like me, when you were in high school, wasn’t it really important what grade someone was in? Like you’re a junior, you’re not going to hang out with some FRESHMAN, right?
But then, when you got to college, there was this sudden shift, and now it doesn’t really matter what year someone is in? I remember that feeling, like “oh, we’re all just college students, who cares if I started a year before someone else.”
If you can relate to that experience, feeling that shift of “oh, turns out that didn’t really matter” then I promise you have another one coming soon, when you get out of college and get a job and go “oh, who cares when someone graduated college, even if they started at the same time. We’re all just doing our thing now.”

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•I have 100 chokers, What is the best way to store them?
17·2 years agoYou could hammer 100 little tack/nails into a board and hang them vertically. They’d be a lot longer vertically then they are wide, so you could do like 25 across x 4 down. You could maybe even still keep the plastic sleeves on them.
Or find a big donut shaped pillow, with the same diameter as a neck, and put all them on it?
I weigh 175lbs naked, but you really can’t trust those grocery store scales.

31·2 years agoI feel like there might be an emerging market for a car company that makes new, safe cars with very low tech computer systems.
Ah who am I kidding, I wish there was a market for all kinds of functional-but-not-enshittified products out there, but the complete lack of them shows the entrenched powers that be will stomp out any attempt to upset the terrible status quo.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•People that went to Paris, what did you think of it?
15·2 years agoIt was quite nice, but the number of elevators that were out of order at major tourist attractions was bonkers. Good luck in Paris if you have mobility issues!

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How would you react if Reddit joined the fediverse?
89·2 years agoI meaaaan, while I did join Lemmy because I was sick of reddit the company’s greedy decisions, I do miss the amount of users and content it has/generates. If reddit joining the fediverse meant they couldn’t dictate what app I use to view their posts, I probably would enjoy being able to browse their content again.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why do right-wingers say that minorities must create their own stories if they are going to complain in the same way?
463·2 years agoI think they really mean “I just don’t want to see black people, but that sounds bad, so let me try to come up with something I think sounds better.”

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's something you want to stop doing but can't actually stop?
8·2 years agoTo get out of those spirals, I just remind myself that I’ve probably forgotten hundreds of things other people probably regret saying/doing, and odds are most people probably forgot mine. Even if I’m sure someone didn’t forget it, I doubt they ever think about it anymore.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•If your toilet was sentient, would you rather that it begged *for* your poop, or that it begged you to *not* poop in it?
8·2 years agoBut then how do you poop if no one is begging? Uhh, asking for a friend.
Ah, but as you say, people only care when they’re “going to” lay in it, meaning they’re not in the bed yet. Once you’re in bed, you pretty much never need to specify the left or right side, you can say “shit, i spilled a drink on your side!”
So, since we only care about left and right sides while we’re not in bed, I say who cares about the in-bed perspective. What matters is how it is oriented while you’re standing up and looking at it. So that’s how I’d assign left and right side.
Four years of only 2-3 hours of sleep a night doesn’t sound sustainable. Is that 30-40k distance something you have to drive? If so, I think you’re gonna fall asleep at the wheel eventually.
