Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Would it be possible to shut down the internet, and how could that be done?
2·7 months agoBut you could still connect with IP addresses and only the name resolution would get affected right? Please correct me if I’m wrong.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Would it be possible to shut down the internet, and how could that be done?
17·7 months agoInternet access could be disabled in a couple of ways
- By ISPs
- By Cloud providers as more and more people are using them
- By government organisations
- etc.
But the whole concept of internet will carry on IMO. After all, its just a large LAN.

Linux@lemmy.ml•[SOLVED] ffmpeg from apt or flatpak, do I need both? debian 13.0
2·8 months agoYou cannot run flatpak application by simply calling the binary.
Coming to your question, I suggest you to install ffmpeg directly from your Debian repo, this way you can get hardware acceleration or device specific benefits for encoding/decoding/transcoding.
You can keep the flatpak version if it is needed by some other flatpak applications. Normally one won’t interfere with the other.

What is your monitor size?
(Edit)
You see the app’s font size is on par with the text size of your KDE panel. If gnome increased it, it would look totally out of place.
Also centering content is a valid design choice. Many websites do that on large/wide monitors. It improves readability. An example might be the design of pi-hole’s UI.
If readability is your issue on gnome on wide screen monitors you should also have issue on reading the time and date on the KDE panel as well.

As a user of Red Ubuntu, I feel personally hot.
