  • Kali linux actually have purpose to teach how to do pentesting not actual tools for pentesting nowadays because in my perspective almost all tools in Kali Linux already in abandoneware or EOL since the tools it self almost never got updated (and still used Python 2.7).
My friends that works as pentesting said to me Learn kali or BlackArch to grasp thing about pentesting, once you already mastered it you create your own tools because different target requires different tools & every pentester & hacker has its own tools that we made ourselves

  • Very accurate representation of Garuda Linux
Tbh i kinda like Garuda since it help newbie understanding arch in easy peasy way , i hope other distro take a note & does the same thing since more and more user willing to use linux
Things I don’t like from garuda their OS very resources hogging & has weird zram thing that very aggressive in usage

    From my experience in Linux:

    1. Many pirated games installer doesn’t work under wine (like from xatab, RG Mechanic, Razor, etc) unless you download pre-installed games like from IGG Games or you just download pirated gog games
    2. Buggy glitching games work under wine (i don’t know why that happened)
    3. Many mod organizer & tools (MO, VORTEX, NMM, etc) doesn’t work unless you download old version or download some sketchy dll files from sketchy website to make those programs works well
    4. Sometimes after running games under wine my system crashes like unable to restart/shutdown or failed to open some programs like dolphin, terminal, etc (maybe bc my system running on wayland)
    5. No Photoshop, After Effects, or Microsoft Office (yes…i know linux has similar programs but those suck & my workplace has standard)
    6. Hard to fine tuning some apps unless you wanna do some dirty work in YAML or XML or CONF files

    • KDE is the best if you want customize without editing yaml or xml or you just new to Linux
    • XFCE, LXDE, MATE, & CINNAMON are the best if you have very old system but still want to have some customization.
    • I3, SWAY, & OPENBOX are the best if you feel need little bit challenge to customize
    • NO GUI (CLI) is the best if you feel DE is bloat or systemd is bloat or wanna feel like Hollywood movie hackers
