BTW…
Also kudos to you for your modding last couple days.
Arch Linux on the way to the store and I can get it to you tomorrow morning and I’ll be there in about an hour or so but I can do it tomorrow or tomorrow morning.
Idk, install arch, then pull make files and dot files from git, wham bam, done how I like it on no time flat.
Bro I think you got too many package managers in your setup. Prob this is gonna cause conflicts.
What’s this do? Been linux only for like 12 years and don’t keep up with office
Np. We programmer types gotta help each other keep docs sharp ;)
Sheer* probably. Unless there a technical merit about cutting stuff.
That’s why I switched to Arch. Every stack overflow article to fix little problems with sound or screen tearing or whatever was a 1 line fix for arch or 4 to 6 lines for Ubuntu.
Does that actually happen?
I prefer the jokes to be entirely in the linux ecosystem is all.
And the 35 or so odd well adjusted linux folks around that find anime, fishnets, thinkpads, (and all associated memes) to be annoying AF. Esp anime / manga / uwu /waifu / and everything in that microcosm of artistic styling if I’m being honest.
I just like the software composability discussion in plain English, man, not the side of fries.
Edit: And anyone who disagrees uses stock Ubuntu unity and unironically thinks it’s both beautiful and just as good as any other distro :P
“from scratch”
It’s like a page worth of instructions you can follow verbatim excluding bootloader and network. If you watch one video of someone doing it to fill those gaps there is nothing to it.
Source: I watched Kai Hendry speed install arch, bookmarked the video and all my machines are now arch “from scratch” in 10 minutes or less of actual keyboard time.
You missed the part where you either sign in with your Microsoft account or cut your Internet, remove the webcam, fake your own death, and do the secret tap code in the bios to just have the OS without letting Microsoft into your butthole.
It’s a lot easier to do the former than the latter. Windows fixes a lot of things about the experience, but maybe not the exact flavoring / theming.
Linux you can’t say anything about the experience besides sweeping generalizations by distro.
Maybe have both. Dual boot is not as helpful as a VM, or st least it wasnt when I was trying to make the switch.
