A good USB c cable and port can hold quite a bit of weight, I’ve easily picked my phone up by it as long as you don’t make any jerking movements. That’s a lot more weight than a few feet of even a very heavily shielded cable.

Oh yeah idk, thats the problem with those estimates is people don’t usually buy everything at full price, they rent or wait for sales or subscribe to a streaming service or gamepass, so even if you assume pepple would have bought everything they pirate, how do you assign a value to it. Like i wasn’t even thinking about movie tickets, i was thinking like 20 or 30 bucks for a bluray. Idk how much they are because i haven’t bought any in ages though lol.

Also 90% of the people who work on movies don’t usually get royalties. They’ve already been paid for their work, who cares if the production company CEO gets a few extta bucks?

Hi FBI. I will just say 5000 seems crazy low though, especially if you’re assuming a movie is $20-$30 and a game is like $10-$80. Dunno how you’d calculate tv shows but dvd/bluray seasons/box sets can get real expensive fast.

Ive also been playing with that mod and its awesome, really made the game feel so much smoother and more fluid. Ive been using the balanced mode though since the higher performance ones seemed to make everything look really foggy. FSR seems to work and look way better on the deck too. The only thing I’ve found so far about the gameplay that im not really fond of is that if you dont cycle out your reserve party they level so much slower and end up underleveled, so you have to keep switching uo your main party to make sure everyone is balanced. Also the platforming on the gestral beach is a fucking joke and i honestly think they might have put it in just as a tongue in cheek reference to how shit the game engine is.
Junkies also say “i need this for work”. In fact i bet thats a major contributing factor in a lot of addictions - not having 2-7 days free where you can detox and be a sweaty emotional disgusting mess.

Iirc what.cd was freeleech for the first week, so i did go nuts. Downloaded anything that seemed popular that didn’t have a huge amount of seeders, and then after the freeleech period ended i downloaded basically every freeleech torrent i could find whether i wanted it or not, just for the seeding. This let me keep quite a good ratio despite having a terrible upload speed at the time. Alot of sites will also give bonus seeder points for uploading new torrents i think, especially if they have a request or bounty system.

Maybe just make a fucking forum? Jesus why did discord ever get popular in the first place?

Hadnt heard of this one so i did a search but anker games (dot) my is the first one that came up and looked sketchy, so i checked fmhy and they link to ankergames (dot) net, so i assume thats the reliable one just fyi.
Just always make paritions a unique size and use their size to identify them. I’m sorta joking because this is not a good solution, but also not because this is what i always do.

Archive.org has been operating for 30 years. You think your shitty little sarcasm is equivalent to an institution thats been around nearly as long as the internet, and yet has entirely resisted and avoided any of the enshittification thats infected literally everything else thats come after it? The internet archive is one of the last fundamentally good and public serving institutions and somehow you’re licking the boots of record companies trying to capitalize on expired copyright claims. Reexamine your priorities and fuck off while youre at it, since your ‘better idea’ is clearly to just do nothing at all.

Sounds like a cool idea, why don’t you set it up?

How does reddit implement this? Afaik famous peoples accounts were known only by reputation and if they posted some form of image verification publicly, but there wasnt any identity verification going on on reddits end. Thats how it used to be everywhere, and how it probably should still be. If you saw an account claiming to be someone, you didn’t believe it was actually them unless you could check it out and verify their identity in some way.

No such thing as too big of a list, thank you. Also you’ll recommend what guy? Your comment cuts off maybe?
Edit nvm that was weird, maybe it didnt load all the way or maybe you edited but i see it all now. Thanks again!

Yeah i dont know what to tell you, i didnt do anything special but didnt have any issues with any of the lego games either on windows or native steamdeck. Actually i think lego the hobbit might have crashed twice during spliscreen, but both times were after at least 4+ hours of playtime, and my SSD was 90%+ full and I only have 16GB of ram and 4gb of VRAM so i think I chalked it up to a swap file/memory fault, but I’ve had the same issue playing other games for extended periods of time. Lego games actually seemed to be some of the most reliable in my experience. Not discounting your experience but i just wanted to give an alternate experience/possibility.

I played skywalker saga through no problem, albeit on windows streaming theough moonlight to the steamdeck but it worked great. Alot of lego games actually, with no issues. Lego the hobbit, lord of the rings, lego harry potter, some straight from steamdeck some streamed from pc depending on hard drive space, but i didnt encounter any bugs or crashes with any of them so your mileage may vary.
Edit: all were local splitscreen as well

I would love some split screen recommendations for myself and my almost gamer girlfriend. She loved all the lego games weve played, it takes two, sackboy, unravel, bg3, divinity, castles crashers, children of morta, idk lots of others but please feed me all your recommendations because theres never enough split screen.

Yeah but their computer is what had limited storage. Most phones these days have a lot more than 8gb. Idk like i said youre not wrong but i still got what they were trying to communicate.

Yeah but if youre using a lemmy app on your phone its significantly faster to just use your phone camera rather than having to share/transfer the file over somehow, or sign into lemmy on your pc. Im not saying you’re wrong, but i get why someone wouldn’t care for a quick throwaway post. Also storage then isnt an issue on the PC at all because the image is only on the phone.
I’ve pretty much seen the opposite. Windows fanboys love to come up with excuses for why they COULDNT POSSIBLY switch to Linux but most of the Linux users I’ve seen are constantly trying to convince people that it’s NOT that intimidating and that you DON’T need to be a super genius or nerd to use it.
