As far as I’m concerned, everything i discuss here is for educational purposes only and even if you share info about “your” setup, it’s just hypothetical. Not your fault if someone you totally don’t know has the same setup you described and uses it for illegal activities.

That’s the thing, most desktop distros come with a web browser preinstalled, but:

• It’s usually firefox or librewolf, which are objectively superior to edge in any scenario.
• You can uninstall it right away with either a three word command or open a program with a big red “uninstall” button, no console needed.
• Nothing breaks, the system literally doesn’t give a fuck if you even have a web browser at all.
• If you want another browser then go for it! You can even use edge if you’re a psychopath. Your system wont judge you, but i might sorry-
• It will never reinstall crap you uninstalled and set it the default on a random mandatory system update.

Tried a few of those once, only one worked and mfker installed itself in the next update. Uninstalling Windows was easy af tho.

I haven’t found a serious critic that didn’t rely on fucking racism yet. If the only real argument is “rUsSian cOmPAny bAD” but you’re ok with USA companies, you’re just braindead.

I don’t even use windows for that same reason, but if a windows user asks me, based on past experiences with low end computers (where you can actually tell the diference), I’d always recommend kaspersky for performance and malwarebytes for precision.

Tbh I’m pretty new to nixos, but I’m starting to believe if we had that the exact same config (at least without flakes, I’m still having trouble undertanding them) but with a slightly abstracted UI, it would be one of the most user-friendly distros out there.

Like just imagine being able to click “Add program”, write the name of a program, having all the options appear below as dropdown menus or on/off switches, then click big blue button “Apply” to rebuild.
