I use WSL for cli stuff and I have Mint running in a VM for desktop stuff. I briefly tried dual booting but it was a pain in the ass and I ended up rarely switching to the Linux partition in practice.

I programmed my headset macro keys to do this with nircmd.
I also like Keepass
Everything+Freecommander makes Windows so much more tolerable.
I do recommend NOT watching YouTube Obsidian “gurus”, their system works for them not you.
One of these is actually what got me started with it. I do not rigidly adhere to their system but it was a nice starting point I have since adapted to my own style. If I had gone into it blind I would have made a lot less progress because I’m kind of dumb when I have nothing to go off.
A few years ago I was responsible for provisioning accounts in an application with a shitty admin UI. The process for doing so was to create the account and then give the account access it required by clicking in the list of available access and then clicking the arrow to move it over to the assigned list. Or you could just double click on it. To remove access you did the same thing from the assigned list to the available list. Or you could go into a particular item and remove the accounts from it that way. One day I was working through terminating a department that had been laid off when I noticed that on one of the largest access items the account list only had names up to “j” in the alphabet. Apparently my mouse had developed a double click problem and I had managed to select the bottom half of that list. I did not have access to any logs or anything that would allow me to reverse that change and it was a Saturday so I was basically fucked until Monday morning when I could contact the application support and they could hopefully fix it.
Implying I can understand the documentation even when it’s available.
No. There’s no reason the content has to be on only one platform other than anti-competitive bullshit. They could all have all the content and differentiate themselves in other ways with quality of life features. Then people would have options without missing out on content.
My peak was one. For like 5-6 years Netflix had enough content to keep me entertained by itself. When the other media companies started pulling their stuff off Netflix to make their own services I started pirating again. Why would I bother keeping track of multiple services when I can get one VPN subscription and have it all plus stuff that isn’t on any of them?
I’d have to double check but I believe that only works on windows and I know for sure you can’t use it for network shares. I have it on my windows desktop but wasn’t able to backup my media server with it.
Seems like something sufficient IT security could prevent easily enough.
Civilization exists because of strong people keeping week people in line. It has nothing to do with morality. It put Donald Trump in the white house FFS. Watch what people do when they think no one is paying attention and won’t face any consequences and they show their true colors.
I’m an excellent judge of character. I just had to learn to stop giving people the benefit of the doubt. No one has gotten anything past me in years and I’ve had countless moments of telling others “I told you so” when someone I warned them about fucks them over.
4 TB over my home network. 800GB download from a external server.
Buying stolen property isn’t innocent and can take the matter up with the person that sold it to them.
You should expect it. A huge % of people are shitbags just waiting for their chance. I’ve found and returned 3 wallets in my life and every time when I mentioned it to someone else they were in total disbelief that I didn’t just steal the person’s money and calling me an idiot for it. These were people I would have thought were trustworthy otherwise.
I asked, through the person who hired the workers, if they took it. But all the workers refused.
Cool, you’re all fired. GTFO of my house.
Either Super Mario Brothers or Paper Boy on my neighbors NES when I was 5.
Japan. practically everything I really enjoy comes from there.
The managers might recognize them but payroll decides pay and everyone’s job code is the same to them. When I was a manager I could argue to try and get pay raises for my top performers but it usually didn’t do much good. Firing the shitty ones also didn’t help because it took months to get approval to hire a replacement.
They don’t allow privacy fences. Only shitty metal picket fences you can see through. Can’t go outside without everyone on the street all up in your business and everyone’s fucking dogs are constantly barking at each other and getting loose because their fence isn’t tall enough to keep them from jumping it.
