I watched that video (half of it iirc) and I didn’t find it boring. I later learnt a kernel module was not needed for my purpose but I still managed to write a very basic one. He starts by saying “good artists copy great artists steal” and copy pastes the USB skeleton driver. Then he builds from there.

is what I see when I go to ubuntu.com on mobile. Seriously? Where is the ISO Canonical?! Why do I have to open the menu and choose Products -> Ubuntu OS -> Ubuntu Desktop to reach the ISO?
For YT I’d recommend enhanced-h264ify for best performance. Also FF with real ublock but that’s personal preference. In my experience on low end YT is slow no matter the browser.

That’s still there but it appears when you use apt, it’s not in .bashrc.
WSL: If your friend is a dev and needs Linux cli utilities, use this. Dual Boot: If your friend wants to daily drive Linux, use this. Shrink Windows NTFS partition within Windows then install Linux to blank space. Virtualbox: Testing ground for dual boot, your friend can familiarise themselves with Linux safely using a VM.
I tried that, printing worked like %20 of the time.
