I mean the hilarious thing about the movie is that the guy in the left was also supposed to be super elite or whatever and be the final boss for Arnold. Arnold circa 1982 vs a guy who looks like he drinks a 6 pack of beer every day. The most lopsided boss fight in a movie.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Most technologies continue to improve with innovation, like WiFi. What is a technology that was nearly perfect upon conception?
2·2 months agoI mean this thread is about tech that was perfect from it’s inception to the point where it didn’t or barely improved. Nothing could be further from the truth, transistor tech has had literally trillions of dollars and millions of smart people’s careers poured into it, and semiconductor IC manufacturing is now the most complicated single activity that our species does.

You’re not creating more stick, but you’re making the stick longer. The pressure wave in the stick will travel at the speed of sound in the stick which will be faster than sound in air, but orders of magnitude slower than light.
Everything has some elasticity. Rigidity is an illusion . Things that feel rigid to us are rigid in human terms only.

5·1 year agoAgreed on both counts. This happened because Microsoft made adoption easy. And this will be fixed within a day. None of the fundamentals have shifted. Even though it’s stupid, this isn’t going to fundamentally shake anything up.
Western countries employing Indian coders are generally looking for the cheapest coders they can find who speak passable English. All of that sounds like you got what you paid for.
Size really does matter for sites like this. Reddit still hosts many smaller subs for niche topics that often have limited toxicity. Lemmy can’t match it yet unfortunately.

More and more products that were previously targeted at what was the middle class are now targeting solely the top 10% of income earners. It’s pretty tragic, and corrosive to the long term health of society.
