Twinkle twinkle little star. It’s neat because there are versions in almost every language.

My baby celebrating her first birthday. Soon she will be able to start walking and eat normal food, so it will be much less effort to take care of her.

Ive never met any person named “Lemmy”, nor seen it in any kind of movie. And the first time I heard about Lemmy the musicion was when I searched for Lemmy the software. For me it mostly sounds similar to cute little lemmings.

What is the weirdest thing about America that Americans don't realize is weird?14·9 months agoNot like that, they didn’t let me board my flight from Europe to Texas. Even though I had a connecting flight to Mexico few hours later. Why can’t they have a visa free transit zone like every other country in the world?
Nutomic@lemmy.mlto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Non-Americans who have been to the US.. What is the weirdest thing about America that Americans don't realize is weird?721·9 months agoI only stopped there for transit on a flight to Mexico. Just before boarding my flight I was told that I need a visa for the US, which is extremely weird because normally airports have transit zones where you don’t need any visa. But apparently the US is special, so you actually have to enter the country before going right back into the airport. This nonsense made me miss my flight.
Also I remember in the airport there was a security guard doing nothing but shouting nonstop that it’s not allowed to carry water. Why not simply put up a sign?
I dont know about you, but our rice cooker seems quite high tech. It can even talk!
You can always use a knife instead.

Nutomic@lemmy.mlOPto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What would be a good name for a federated Wikipedia?0·2 years agoThere are plenty of Wikipedia articles which are not objective, particularly when it comes to politics or history. Of course federation means there would be many different wikis. That makes sense, for example different countries should have their own independent wikis, instead of using one controlled by a different nation.
Nutomic@lemmy.mlOPto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What would be a good name for a federated Wikipedia?0·2 years agoIt sounds like you didn’t read the article at all, because it clearly explains how Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales himself is involved in many such cases of corruption and manipulation. The code is not the problem, but the fact that a single organization has full control over the site and can decide which contributions get accepted or rejected.
Nutomic@lemmy.mlOPto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What would be a good name for a federated Wikipedia?0·2 years agoWikipedia has very major problems, but almost nobody is aware of them. Give this article a read to get an idea.
This is my second baby, the first one is three years old. So in my experience it’s much more fun once the child can go to the playground, starts to talk and gradually learns to do things independently. Though there are also difficulties, and of course every child is different.
