They literally try and positively review bazzite in the linked video.

If his teasers are to be believed thats what he does for the second installment of this.
I think the purpose of the video is to review who you can just tell to switch to linux and have them be able to do it unassisted in a short time frame. I think it does a pretty good job of showing that, the type of person linus was emulating represents a pretty large group of people and they generally can’t switch without either a large amount of frustration or a helpful friend. Also keep in mind this is the first in a series not a single video.
I think you are grossly overestimating people’s capabilities if you think anyone can switch to linux with no interactive help. https://xkcd.com/2501/ . “Setting up windows” for most people means swiping the credit card and pressing the power button. They do not care about data collection, and if its slow then they think they should buy the upgraded model.
I also think its funny how many of the people in this thread see this as a negative video, when I think it actually shows things in a very positive light, just a realistic one. I have already had someone switch to linux because of this video.
Windows laptops absolutelly come pre-installed with the drivers compatible with that system.
Also while hit or miss windows update will install graphics drivers (on a slower cadence than direct from.nvidia/amd) even in a fresh windows install. It’s a common pain point for windows update to mistakenly downgrade your drivers.
People are being exposed to something outside their bubble, and are lashing out.

This is probably paranoid, but a picture of a key is enough information for someone to clone your key fairly easily, probably not the car keys, but definitely what I assume are your house keys.
In Toronto there is a Rogers Center, and then they recently opened a Rogers Arena half way across town, and there are also roger’s X in Vancover and Ottawa. It’s just as annoying as it sounds, made more annoying because rogers is one of the most hated companies in the country.

Technology@beehaw.org•Wireless EV charging hits 90% efficiency in Swiss real-world trials
1·5 months agoOf course it’ll be awhile before anything like that, this is just one engineering problem solved. But self driving within a confined space like a parking lot (especially a parking lot that doesn’t normally allow humans) is a lot easier to solve than the general case. I think you’d see adoption happen first with fleets of cars or buses, before it would become common place for just regular stuff.
Physical connections are really rough, they require millimeter precision, Tesla has been trying to do this for ages

Technology@beehaw.org•Wireless EV charging hits 90% efficiency in Swiss real-world trials
32·5 months agoNot having a cable unlocks some interesting potential. Right now an inconvenience of driving an EV is that the chargers may be full and inconsiderate people may leave their car plugged in for longer than needed. Take away the need to plug in and add some self driving and you could have your car automatically charge then move itself to a regular spot once it’s done. Could make a setup like this a lot more simple.

Remember that there’s big polluters of the world want you to believe its all already over and that you can’t win. This is a strategy they explicitly employ, and you are not immune to their propaganda.

51·5 months agoIf Linux gets popular the mega corps will just follow them there and then you’ll be asking them to uninstall Dell os or at least remove the Linux recall (powered by bing) that it comes bundled with. Just look at the modern state of android.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's a video game that you just don't get the hype about?
1·5 months agoInteresting that you say hades has that intuitive randomness, one of my biggest complaints for hades 1 is that you can basically force whatever run you want every single run. It felt like a roguelike for people who hate roguelikes. Isaac otoh I totally agree, its my most played game by far really love it.

1·5 months agoI also dislike deckbuilders, but slay the spire is the exception. It skips the tideous deck management a lot of games have and you aren’t playing against an other deck which is a big part of what I hate.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's a video game that you just don't get the hype about?
2·5 months agoI think the game’s good side doesn’t really show until you beat it. And with the context that moral choice game systems were a trend and up to this point extremely shallow (infamous series, army of two etc).
I couldn’t get into it either though to be honest, but I enjoyed reading about the lore and the games it inspired.

There are quite a few pieces of software that have 2 different branding. For instance the windows file searcher agent ransack also goes by “file locator pro” to keep from scaring the corpos.
