This is a common stereotype but there is a reasonably sized group of Linux enthusiasts who work on macs.
Macos is a real unix based OS. (As opposed to unix compatible GNU “Gnu is Not Unix”) and they claim the performance (apples own chips), even in a vm is amazing.
I had at least one coworker who did this, i also remember Emily Young (Who some remember as Anthony from Ltt) also had quite a few apple products in her house.

Its rather subjective but it wouldn’t be the first time updating arch has broken my system and its fair that some people don’t want to deal with that and much prefer some more mature.
And i have no qualms with people who do use debian for a main system but i do assume everyone who do are retired folk with a long career in computing behind them and aren’t in the market to change to another.

I wouldn’t want to be perceived in any other way.

Being critical towards operating system: Great
Actual argument: fair
Solution: oof
Debian is by all means great, for many things, but for a main pc? Shivers

Sweats in “linux vr is one of my current hobby projects”
Gender-neutral term are never wrong and maybe there was a source for it.
Not sure who has the technical authority to decide the pronouns of a fictional character, commissioned artist or the commissioner.
Got a source on this?
The artist uses female pronouns for them.

This is not just chatgpt and also not caused by a recent changed.
all llms seems to love this pattern and i agree once you know about it you start seeing it everywhere.

I am concerned but is there enough information here to know it’s bad?
Braves Adblock is generally very good as i recall. Traditional adblockers block content that is already downloaded while brave blocks it from using bandwidth at all. (Please correct if wrong)
Its the other toxic and malicious crap it does and the far right sympathies that are its real problems.
I could see corporations take over the mainstream public web but the open networking tools will persist to create a new open web besides it.
If the “darkweb” does one thing very well its demonstrating how there will always be a way.
Part of the reason is to to get controlled competition.
Same with google being the largest donator to firefox. If they wouldn’t do this it would create a hole that could motivates many others to create new innovation that could become a threat to them.
Also so they can deflect anti monopoly laws and also because they benefit from open source themselves.

Card against humanity… maybe…
Tbh i think the hypeland configuration solved pretty much all that for me.
The project has been renamed and changed maintainer since but its still very much alive if anyone wants to check it out.

I had never seen a tiling window manager before and my only experience on Linux was a little ubuntu server to run my Minecraft server from.
I installed arch using archinstall a few years ago just because i got sold on a custom hyperland config, never looked back.
I have yet to understand what the fuss is all about with it being difficult or not new user friendly.
Yes there are weekly updates, and on occasion they do break something, but that was never different on windows.
I have no idea what was up with the multiple steam windows, it did feel like he was actually cursed when that happened.
But the “weird control” issue in l4d2 which was then solved by using a custom launch command found on protondb… thats super real.
Eventually you learn to check protondb as a habit the second you encounter any kind of game issue but for a newcomer thats another hurdle.
If i recall it was as an example of how “ai” can be more then just llm chatbots. I thought the com was specifically against llms but they didn’t like general machine learning either.
Long time ago though.
