Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•I'm only an adult because I'm 40 but I feel like a child. Is anyone as lost as I feel now?

I’d recommend you stop comparing yourself to others and focus on what you want in life. You say you don’t know if you should use your savings as a down payment for a house or not, but do you even want to own a house? Homeownership is very much a lifestyle choice. With rent, that is the maximum you will have to pay. Your mortgage is just the bare minimum. If I was single, I would not want to live in a house. I would either rent or potentially buy a condo.
You say your an individualist but are scared of being alone. What are you doing to build relationships (romantic or not) and community?
Was he ever a cop? I thought he was a software engineer…
I vote in every election. I will always vote for the candidate most aligned with my values. I do not vote by party lines (though frankly with the direction of the one major party has moved it sure looks like I do).
Always vote. Especially in your local elections. They matter and very few people participate.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Are you really smart? Are you really dumb? Are you average? How did you come to your conclusion?
1·3 years agoAll of the above.
In some areas, I’m very smart. Others I am a massive idiot. I think I probably average out to a solid average intelligence.

Peru - super fresh, locally grown food; incredibly hard working people who are super friendly
Ireland - craic
New Zealand - respect of the environment, freedom camping
France - long luxurious meals with family/friends; delicious pastries; willing to burn shit down when political leaders forget who they work for
