Just asking because there are a lot of youtube applications and I don’t know which has good touchscreen support, FreeTube doesn’t (I use it on desktop), any electron based ones probably don’t too.
I use a tablet (Cachyos with gnome), so no keyboard or mouse, and I don’t care if it’s flatpak, appimage, native package, etc.
If there isn’t anything, I might use some frontend on librewolf.
Thanks!
Edit: FreeTube started working after I closed it and opened again, so I’m going to use it hahaha, sorry for the post.
There’s an unofficial desktop version of Newpipe now it seems:
https://flathub.org/en/apps/net.newpipe.NewPipe
I’ve not tried desktop but I do use it on Android. Taps to the left\right advance video in multiples of 10s. Dragging vertically on left/right adjusts volume and brightness. It’s a pretty decent touch interface I’d say.
Edit: importing subscriptions don’t work, so yeah :/
Oh, cool! I’m using PipePipe on android, I’m going to check the Newpipe flatpak!
Android apps run via Waydroid?
Now there’s Android Translation Layer (ATL).
Newpipe (one of the best youtube client for android) is available on flathub:

mpv with yt-dlp i guess. If the default UI isn’t touchscreeny enough, there’s also uosc.
Mpv uses too much battery, about video players I use the old gnome videos.
Grayjay, available from F-droid and on desktop.
If you hate FUTO, you don’t have to give them money.
