Don’t do it. AI makes you stupid, and using it for school is counterproductive.
I understand your concern. But I am using it for coding ability at moment. It’s better for me to reply on them for that

Yes and No. I know how to do it but I don’t want to learn everything waiting until the end of time to do some cool stuff that I wanted now.

Learn to actually be self reliant, study and do actual work. Instead of trying to get someone to help make yourself stupider.
In this specifical case not stupider but maybe just learn almost nothing, waste your time. Aside from the enviromental impact.
In a more generalized sense it would peobs make you dumber ig and probably shorten patience, resiliance and that kind of stuff even more.
there are a lot of competitors to Cursor that will give you a free trial that might be good for 2 weeks or a month. Free tiers have been drying up recently IME. OpenAI Codex probably has the best free tier ATM. Change the model to 5.4-mini to stretch it out a lot.

Deepseek v4 pro or kimi. U don’t need cursor. Plain overpriced
Zed with Deepseek, MiniMax or KimiK is the way to go imo. You can’t pirate API or AI subscription though… If you don’t want to spend anything, try running locally if you have a good rig. Cursor is totally unnecessary.
I dont know anything about cursor specifically, but if you REALLY want an ai coding agent for free I guess opencode? You’ve probably seen the other comments on why using one is a bad idea though, especially for a beginner (personally learning go with neovim, its very rewarding).
