I’m kinda confused because one thing I noticed was it never told I was banned it just kept saying server error on regular reddit while Continuum looked like it was working fine.
Problem was I had forgotten to update the app in months and when I had I was required to change my password since I thought it was an issue with my password and kept putting it in wrong too many times and eventually just changed my email along with my password. Like I don’t see why I’m banned unless I go incognito on my account
This is lemmy.
Funny, because this kind of snarky reply would be perfectly at home on Reddit.
Sir, this is Denny’s.
Well… I’m here now,but I’m curious how it got to that point. Ya know ?? Especially with clinical anxiety I was never even given a reason for why I was banned and its really kinda stressful esp having recently lost my grandfather and figuring that out emotionally. I’d just like to figure out why it happened
You could have been banned for something else too, their ban bots are really arbitrary now. Not really a way to know for sure.
You don’t remember the mass exodus due to the closure of Reddit’s API?
Reddit (and lemmy alike) will only serve to increase your anxiety long-term. From what i’ve been hearing Reddit has also been less transparent about their bans lately and will often target minor transgressions that they otherwise once wouldn’t have.
I thought lemmy was better :edit and yes I do remember the api exodus from reddit
Sorry i wasn’t finished revising my post, but it’s still ‘doom-scrolling’ regardless of the platform.
All good
AFAIK if you use your own OAuth token reddit is officially cool with it. Officially.
Odd , than why did I need to go into incognito mode to figure out i was banned
You’d be using the same OAuth key in the app, even logged out, if that helps.
Not really but thank you _
I’ve been doing it since 2023.
Huh odd…
