Gnome on surface pro 4.
Finally have a fantastic setup for my surface to act as a tablet. the extension Touchup is doing some heavy lifting for usability. apps are: files, Riff, Librewolf, Voyager. Heres more screenshots.
Edit: i forgot to show some portrait screenshots! Ill grab some when i get a min!
i used to run a heavily customized GNOME, but the frustration of plugins sometimes taking weeks to update to new versions eventually made me return to a very vanilla environment. Even more annoying was when plugins would get abandoned and just stop updating to new versions. The game of plugin roulette every update was just too much
yeah that’s annoying. i’m hoping Touchup doesn’t get abandoned.
i wish GNOME had an API for extensions: you’d loose a little flexibility but it would save extension developers a ton of effort keeping things working
did you have to install treibers manuell? for touch and pen?
no idea what that means. this version of ultramarine is built specifically for surface devices and uses the Linux-surface kernel.
